My dive
partner, Kurt & I have been talking for years about
how easy it would be to build an old-fashioned
shallow water diving helmet out of an old water tank.
Well, here's Kurt's first take on the Homebrew Helmet.
Here's the tank cut down to size with shoulder & front port cutouts.
It fits!
Add the front portlight frame...
..and an upper light.
A pair of side lights completes the classic four-window helmet.
Breastplate added - ready for welding!
Still to come: Brass portlight frames, lifting handle, air inlet valve and ballast weights.
